Kiva Credit Now More Volatile

Great news from Kiva. From now on, as soon as they get their money from the loaners — we get it in our Kiva account available to re-lend. Awesome!

This is what they sent us:

We are happy to announce that Kiva will now return repayments to lenders as soon as those repayments are received by Kiva. Because of this change, you’ll be able to re-lend funds right away instead of waiting until the end of the loan term. We hope you enjoy this new feature!

As a result of this change, $59.26 in Kiva Credit has been released to you and is now available for you to use. You can re-lend these funds, donate or withdraw them.

So here’s a quick overview:

I have a new loan to “Luz Janeth Rimarachin Heredia” from Peru.
Betty Gloria Lopez Zavaleta, also from peru has fully repaid — I wish her the best of luck with her business!
Mahsat Juraboeva, Nodira Boimatova and Olivia Teresa Ochavana are close to their final payment with well over 80% repaid each. I can’t wait to reinvest!

Loan Disbursed to Lauristela Espinoza De Pillman

I joined the loan for Lauristela Espinoza De Pillman for $25 quite some time ago — but only today has it been disbursed. Awesome! I love getting these e-mails, as I know someone just got a capital injection, partly thanks to me.

Good luck to Lauristela, who runs a little store in the neighborhood of Partido Alta in Tarapoto, San Martin, Peru. She’ll be using the money to buy a second cell phone for her customers to use.

I got my first repayment!

The first loan I joined in on was one for a store owner in Paraguay called Amado Ocampos. Today, I got notice of him repaying the first of 11 installments. I only have $25 invested in this business, but I’m excited to see this first repayment e-mail.

The business you have loaned to, run by Amado Ocampos, has made a repayment of $98.00. The total amount repaid is now $98.00. This repayment will be divided amongst all the lenders who helped to fund this business, depending upon the percentage each lender contributed.

Pretty awesome, right?! Well, I wish Amado Ocampos all the luck in the world, and I’m sure the Kiva-money will help him expand his business. I’ll be keeping all of you posted of how this evolves!

Alright, the website is live! It’s taken me a couple days to actually get this thing up, but now that I have I’m looking forward to starting this blog off!
